Manuscript Preparation Guidelines

IJELLH has published scientific scholarly manuscripts from authors of all over the globe. We understand that authors from different countries follow different writing styles. To provide ease to the authors we have not had a strict writing style, perhaps we need basic citation style from authors.  No matter which citation style you follow as the most citation styles often require the same type of data though they are just arranged in a different way.  The foremost rule is that all Works Cited /References must have a mention or correlate with in-text Citation in the manuscript body.

The authors are requested to follow the below-mentioned author’s guidelines:

  1.     The research paper or article must be plagiarism free and original with unique research contents.
  2.     The research paper should not be published elsewhere or under review for any other journal publication.
  3.     IJELLH has restricted its scope to the disciplines of English Language, Literature, and Linguistics, therefore, a research paper written apart from these subject areas will not be considered.

How to Write in-text Citations:

  • The first and foremost rule is that all in-text citations must have a mention in the Works Cited/References also.  Please do remember to cite all the in-text Citations in the Works Cited/References page at the end of the paper.  Likewise, all Works Cited/References must be mentioned appropriately in in-text Citations too, both must complement or correlate with each other. Hence it is essential to add Work Citations for each in-text citations added in the body of the text else the manuscript will be deemed as incomplete and will be rejected.
  • Please write page number in-text citations. It means if you are writing your manuscript in APA style include the author’s last name, publication year and the page number ( Shakespeare. 2018,p. 07), on the other hand, if you are employing MLA style in writing your manuscript, do include the author’s last name and the page number ( Shakespeare 07)  that is mandatory; though you can include publication year also.
  • If the author’s name is missing in the source or article then add a few words from the heading followed by page number in parenthesis. For example, “Dolly and I greeted each other with a slight nod” (Two States 62).
  • If the author is already named in the sentence, you only need to include the page number in parentheses:Example: According to Shakespeare, ......................... (p 07).
  • For the quotations culled from Internet-Based Sources don’t write the complete URL in; in-text citation. Write only the writer's name and page number (if available). If the writer’s name is missing, write only title and section/page numbers (if applicable).
